This engine has a 1" x 2-1/4" shaft. The newer OHV engines are wider than the original L-head engine, but should not be a problem. If you purchase an engine with the 3/4" diameter shaft, you will need to purchase a sleeve to take the shaft up to 1" diameter. If your key stock is built into your pulley, a sleeve will not work for you.
